Because I had been after the bird for 5 years. I drove 800 miles round trip to find it. I walk a few miles through some woods in the middle of no-where and the there he was. Looking handsome as he strutted his stuff. My adrenaline was pumping making me shake as I thought I wasn't going to get my shot ! I had spent ages sneaking up on him. What happened next was so funny. After I got a few shots I moved away, he then ran straight at me like a bat out of hell and bit me I still have the scar !!!
When I was hiking in the Cairngorms, these would hide in the heathers, unaccustomed to human presence, and then spring from under my feet at the last moment. That was an experience! Nearly cost me a heart attack a couple of times.
No, I did not drink anything (just water) . But, may be, I have had illusion by seeing through glass. I meant I did not try to be funny with that, but I really don't know I why I thought like this way (the bird is like a Flamenco dancer)!
